This report explores how Chile, Mexico, Kenya, Mauritius, the Philippines, and Taiwan are approaching the intersection of AI governance and data regulation. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in public and private life, ensuring that data frameworks are ethical, equitable, and rights-centered, is crucial. Our study highlights both progress and gaps, from strong data protection provisions, to emerging strategies in countries where AI-specific regulations are still under development.
